Drs. Neal and Donna Mayerson and Sean Slovenski came together with a common goal – to unite a proprietary coaching model with a proven innovative technology. In doing so, coaching would become more efficient, affordable, and available to a broad range of individuals. Together, they founded Hummingbird Coaching Services™, the only provider of one-on-one online health coaching services, since 1997. The three founders remain actively involved in the leadership of the organization and steadfast in their commitment to provide online coaching programs that help companies reduce rising costs and improve productivity.

Our Founders

Company Chairman Dr. Neal Mayerson has been an innovator and active in the fields of psychology, business, and philanthropy. Together with Dr. Martin Seligman, the father of Positive Psychology, Dr. Mayerson helped launch the new scientific field of Positive Psychology by founding the not-for-profit organization, Values In Action Institute. Positive Psychology is the basis of the proprietary coaching methodology created by Hummingbird™, differentiating Hummingbird™’s products from all other coaching. In addition, Dr. Mayerson develops programs and not-for-profit organizations that do innovative work in personal and professional development, social awareness, and education. Dr. Mayerson earned his doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Utah, and has worked as a psychologist in community mental health, hospital settings and in private practice.

CEO and President Sean Slovenski is recognized as a health care industry visionary, with over 15 years’ experience in prevention and wellness. He started his career by helping invent and manage one of the nation’s first large-scale wellness and health coaching product lines. Sensing the need and potential for a broad-spectrum coaching product, Mr. Slovenski created a company whose premier product was a health coaching service called MyHealthCoach.com. It is this technology and general coaching foundation that was incorporated into Hummingbird.

Chief Coaching Officer Dr. Donna Mayerson is developer of the company's training model. She is a gifted therapist and coach with uncanny powers of intuition and sensitivity, and can quickly discern the core issues and suggest pragmatic ways of dealing with problems. She brings this special talent to her work in training and mentoring our coaches. Dr. Mayerson earned her M.Ed. in Special Education from the University of Cincinnati and her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at the University of Utah.
